Our Past
In 2015, Ghanaian entrepreneur George Yaw Owusu, through the George and Angelina Owusu Foundation, donated nearly $1 million (USD) for the construction of the medical facility in Akyawkrom. The Foundation partnered with Sanford World Clinics and has operated the George and Angelina Owusu Medical Campus in Akyawkrom, off Ejisu-Juabeng Road since 2016.
Our Present and Future
In May 2022, the facility was rebranded in honor of the late Obaapanin Afia Mansa of Akyawkrom, whose genuine service to her community inspired a spirit of selflessness and commitment to personal health and wellbeing.
Our single focus is to efficiently operate a healthcare facility that will serve the immediate and broader community in the region. Our vision is to improve the quality of life in our community by providing access to quality healthcare services.
We deliver preventative care and treatment to underserved rural communities, focusing on reducing maternal mortality, preventing and treating cervical cancer, and managing hypertension and diabetes to improve women’s health and well-being.
